About Kanata Health
Canada’s healthcare system is among the best in the world at treating illness. But for Canadians who want to get ahead of potential health problems, the standard system offers limited tools. Many of the most advanced diagnostic technologies in preventive medicine become available in the United States years before they are accessible in Canada, if they become accessible at all.
Kanata Health was built for the gap between those two realities.
We help Canadians understand what advanced diagnostic options exist, determine through physician consultation whether those options are right for their situation, and access them through trusted U.S.-based providers when they are.

At Kanata Health, your consultation is with Dr. Ali Sanei. He evaluates your situation, determines whether advanced testing is appropriate, and reviews your results with you afterward.
Dr. Sanei has practiced medicine for over 20 years across the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. He trained in surgery and otolaryngology at some of the UK’s most respected NHS institutions, including Barts and The London NHS Trust, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust. He holds a fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
After relocating to North America, he completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and holds a Clinical Instructor appointment with UBC’s Department of Family Practice. He is Double Board Certified by both the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) and the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM).
He is currently an actively licensed and practicing physician in Washington State. That dual licensure is directly relevant to what Kanata Health does: he can evaluate Canadian patients, order tests through U.S.-based providers, and guide follow-up care on both sides of the border, all within a single physician relationship.
Patients come to Kanata Health because they want answers. What keeps them is how those answers are delivered.
Dr. Sanei approaches every consultation the same way: with a thorough review of your history, honest assessment of what is and is not worth pursuing, and clear explanations of what findings actually mean in the context of your life. He does not recommend tests because they are available. He recommends them when they are genuinely relevant to your situation.
If a test is not right for you, he will tell you that directly. If it is, he will make sure you understand exactly what you are doing and why before any decision is made.
Our Approach to Preventive Diagnostics
Kanata Health is built around four principles that guide every patient interaction.
Consultation before testing
Every patient begins with a physician consultation, not a test menu. Recommendations are shaped by your medical history, family history, concerns, and goals.
Access Beyond Canada
We connect patients with advanced diagnostics selected for their clinical evidence and established use in U.S. preventive medicine. We also coordinate the logistics so you are not left navigating the process alone.
A process that respects your time
Consultations and results are delivered virtually. In most cases, the only travel required is for the testing appointment itself, which can often be completed in a single day.
Clarity at every step
Advanced testing can generate complex data. Every result is reviewed by Dr. Sanei, explained in plain language, and discussed with you before any next step is recommended.
